We’ve been programmed to believe, by popular fad diets that carbs are the enemy. We eat them our weight goes up, we don’t eat them, our weight drops down. So logic would tell us that they simply are the cause of all our weight issues.
You may also have heard that carbs are the cause of type 2 diabetes and obesity, and that we should be avoiding them. And while for some individuals, some carbs may not serve them or their health, are blanket statements like this actually completely accurate? Are carbs really bad?
Both vegetables, fruits, white bread, croissants and quinoa are all carbs. So how do we know which ones are more or less optimal for our body composition goals?
